Description
Moisture-Resistant Design The USS Drybox is built from hydrophobic polypropylene (PP), a material significantly less permeable to moisture than standard polycarbonate boxes. It performs well even without added desiccant. With its unusual central opening, the box mounts directly onto a spool holder and reduces the free internal volume where humid air could accumulate. Daily Workflow Optimised A key benefit of the Drybox is how seamlessly it integrates into your workflow. Instead of removing the spool for each print, you place it once and leave it inside until it’s used up. The rubber cap with a special slot holds the filament end so you can pull it out without opening the box, reducing exposure to ambient moisture. Because the box is stackable, it also makes multi-spool organisation simple and efficient. Reliable Filament Storage — Not a Dryer The Drybox does not actively dry filament that has already absorbed moisture. Instead, it maintains low-moisture conditions to keep properly pre-dried filament in print-ready shape. For best results, use it as part of a workflow where filament is dried beforehand and then stored in the box. Why It Matters Humidity strongly affects the performance of many filament types, especially hygroscopic materials. Minimising moisture absorption leads to more consistent prints with better adhesion, mechanical strength and surface quality. The USS Drybox provides a practical, reliable system that preserves material quality, reduces preparation time and integrates neatly into your everyday printing setup.
