The Faithfull Soft Grip Bevel Edge Chisel in 32mm (1.1/4in) is a larger size ideal for heavier-duty woodworking tasks and where greater material removal is required. This blade width is particularly effective for cutting wide mortises, cleaning up large joints, removing significant amounts of waste timber, and general site carpentry work. Manufactured from drop-forged chrome vanadium steel, the blade is hardened and tempered to exacting standards to ensure the cutting edge remains sharper for longer. The bevelled edge design makes this chisel ideal for cutting into tight corners and for use on fine work. The handle features an anti-slip, soft grip coating for added user comfort during extended use, and is fitted with a steel striking cap that provides added protection when used with a mallet or an occasional hammer blow. The blade is ground to an angle of 25° which increases to 30° at the leading edge for optimal cutting performance. For complete accuracy when sharpening, use a honing guide (FAIHG) and an oil, diamond or whetstone.
