Description
The Faithfull Soft Grip Bevel Edge Chisel in 38mm (1.1/2in) is the largest size in the range, designed for heavy-duty woodworking tasks requiring maximum material removal. This blade width is ideal for cutting very wide mortises, substantial joint preparation, removing large amounts of waste timber, and heavy carpentry work on site or in the workshop. Manufactured from drop-forged chrome vanadium steel, the blade is hardened and tempered to exacting standards to ensure the cutting edge remains sharper for longer. The bevelled edge design makes this chisel ideal for cutting into tight corners and for use on fine work. The handle features an anti-slip, soft grip coating for added user comfort during extended use, and is fitted with a steel striking cap that provides added protection when used with a mallet or an occasional hammer blow. The blade is ground to an angle of 25° which increases to 30° at the leading edge for optimal cutting performance. For complete accuracy when sharpening, use a honing guide (FAIHG) and an oil, diamond or whetstone.
