The 38mm (1½in) Marples M444 Blue Chip Bevel Edge Chisel is a larger-width tool designed for heavier joinery work, timber framing, and tasks requiring substantial material removal. This size is particularly useful for cleaning out larger mortises, working with substantial timber sections, and general carpentry where a wider blade provides better coverage and efficiency. The high-impact round blue plastic handle is contoured for maximum control and radiused for a comfortable grip during demanding work. Designed for use with a mallet, it will absorb the occasional hammer blow without damage. The solid one-piece forged bolster fitted bevel-edged blade is manufactured from best-in-category carbon steel, tempered along the full length and hardened up to the last 25mm for a longer working life.
