Drainage hoppers are installed above a P trap as an alternative to a bottle gully.The plastic grid should be cut to accept the waste pipe, which must terminate below the grid level inside the hopper.The bottom end of the hopper is chamfered ready for insertion into the ring seal of the trap below.
